What to expect during a treatment

Kinesiology in practice

You will be asked to lie down on a couch fully clothed. Either an arm or a leg, will be positioned so that one of its muscles is in a contracted position. The kinesiologist will then apply gentle pressure to that muscle and you will be asked to match the pressure. This is not a test of the strength of the muscle, but of how the muscle responds to the stimulus of the added pressure. The muscle will either remain in contraction (strong) or will unlock (weak). How the muscle responds gives the practitioner feedback and this is used to determine what the priority stresses on the body are and the best way to address them.

Depending on the body's needs, your treatment may include nutrition, flower remedies, music, massage, oils and energy to re-balance the whole body. You may be also be given advice on nutrition, exercise programmes and life-style changes, which will help maintain the positive changes that have taken place during your session. No two sessions are alike even for people with apparently identical symptoms.

In practice, although considerable relief may be gained from just one treatment, the effect may or may not be long lasting. It will depend on the severity and the duration of the problem and whether the causes still persists. When properly spaced treatments are given, the person heals quickly and is the most cost effective in the long term and it is possible for people to need 3-5 treatments.

Clients have also recognised that Kinesiology can be used in a preventive manner rather than just dealing with problems when they arise. These clients will continue to have Kinesiology sessions in order to maintain their health and well-being perhaps 3 to 4 times a year.

Look after yourself!

Drink plenty of water

Look after your health and well-being with regular gentle exercise.

With regards to food, take time to think about what you eat. Ensure your diet provides you with balanced meals of healthy, unprocessed natural foods.

Ensure that you drink 4 glasses of still fresh water daily.

Avoid the stress of harmful emotions, anger, disappointment, worry and conflict; all of these are detrimental to the body’s ability to maintain good health. Take steps to reduce your stress factors whilst traveling, at work and at home.

All systematic Kinesiology practitioners are dedicated to the prevention as well as the alleviation of symptoms and are able to help clients much more effectively if each person makes a commitment to helping themselves.
